Neat, Privacy.com started charging foreign transaction fees, to the tune of 3% or a minimum of $0.50, in November of 2023. No notice was sent that they were starting this. Guess I'll eat $1 in monthly charges, because there's no way I'm upgrading myself to a paid plan for $10 to save $1.

Nice one, Bing. In today's email blast, the links to the first two answers, "Balkan Mountains" and "Bavarian Alps", are switched, so clicking the correct answer nets you a wrong answer. Not that it matters much.

Whee, found an old post about Ryujinx on orange site, and saw some dipstick vehemently defending Nintendo from the “obvious majority” of emulator users who pirate games. Said something about how “Piracy is unethical. It’s like freeriding.” Well I’d love to argue the positive ethics of freeriding and turnstile jumping, but I don’t want to ever have an account on orange site. Or get into arguments with corpo bootlickers.

Needless to say, piracy isn’t really a problem, because it will never be a thing that the overwhelming majority of people will partake of. Corpos will always get a huge wad of cash, artists will collect pocket change, and poors will just do without or pirate.

Big F-U to forum admins who don't allow bumping, especially when their forums are practically dead in the water and 99% of the threads on the first page of the forum haven't been posted in for years.

Regarding archive .is or archive .today links used as Receipts for Fediblock posts #fediblockmeta Reminder that the admin of archive .is intentionally blocks Cloudflare DNS from querying their DNS records properly, because they have some sort of homegrown CDN that requires eDNS client subnet information from anyone resolving their domains to work, and they don't like that Cloudflare's DNS not only blocks this record for their users, but also resolves the domain from any random-ass Cloudflare server located literally in any one of their datacenters, instead of using a server nearby to the user. Guess archive .is pride themselves on knowing where their users are located.

Here's to the next generation of desktop Mac with M3 having the new hardware Mesh Shaders and Ray Tracing they just introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro's A17 PRO. Then maybe developers will further take the Mac seriously as a desktop gaming platform.

I'm going to guess that it will already be supported by code which uses Metal's existing Mesh Shaders and Ray Tracing primitives, except they will now be a lot faster to use.
