God fucking DAMMIT. Why did nobody tell me the 10G ethernet in the Mac mini was so goddamn flaky? It drops for 3-6 seconds at a time every few minutes. Unlike every other 2.5G device on my network.

Well, crap, I may have fixed it by installing a post-launch 15.1 update? Maybe that included some firmware updates that it didn’t launch with.

Incidentally, launch machines came with 15.0.x on M4 and 15.1 on M4 Pro, but apparently the latter wasn’t the final form of 15.1?

Hmm, that wasn’t it, but maybe forcing the link speed to 2500T seems to have settled it? Maybe Apple’s lovely choice of Broadcom chipsets and overzealous link auto detection makes it try to set up to 10000T when my switch and possibly run of cable to the switch are clearly 2500T only.
