Man, I wish I could scam some buttcoin for 2013 prices and sell for today prices. Assuming my Coinbase transfer limits would let me sell that much at once.

The One Big Beautiful Bill is focused on helping working families get ahead. According to the latest estimates from the Council of Economic Advisors, a typical family of four in California could see up to a $16,000 increase in yearly take-home pay. Rest assured, I will keep fighting for Riverside County families.

I must not be very "normal", because I don't remember ever playing the "My dad could beat up your dad" card during my lifetime. Nobody really played it against me, either. Though once, during one of those lovely proxy baptism outings they had me do for the LDS church, one of the other boys pointed to some homeless person and said, "Hey Chris, there's your dad!" That's about it.

Thanks, asshole, for boosting the Orange Site posting about the anti-DEI fork of X.Org into my timeline. I did not already know this piece of shit existed. I really needed the Orange Site blast.

Ken Calvert emailed my dad with a bunch of bootlicking crap about enforcing immigration laws, supporting the national guard, and praising the military. Strangely, it didn't make it to the inbox and went straight to spam...

Email subject from ZDNet:

> MacOS 26 perks Windows already has ✨

But, what if I want to use "Literally anything but Windows". I'll even take less functional OSes. Or OSes that took years to catch up.

Cool, I just thought to test #steam on #macostahoe and found that I can't launch any games. Everything either crashes or says Steam isn't logged in. And Steam gets stuck thinking that the last game is still running.

I guess I get to buy my entire library over again from the Mac App Store. Or just use a PC for games.

So #macostahoe is the new Windows Vista? Instead of Aero Glass we have Liquid Glass? And lots of bugs?

But it's still a first developer beta. And I like it.

I also liked Vista. Even with 1GB of RAM and a cramped partition made next to the XP partition I hated still using.

Why the hell does Privacy have daily spending limits across the whole account? Aren't the limits per card sufficient? Why the hell is this even considered security? How hard is it to simply call your bank and ask them to reverse the charges? This shit is meant to simplify security by giving me burnable card numbers, not protect me from myself. Well, there's one more vendor who now directly has my debit card number all because I needed to spend more than $500 at once.

I feel bad for feeling disempowered in real life because every social group I've felt the need to vacate lately was too busy bending over backwards to not get rid of neonazis in the group, even among the staff, and the staff who weren't neonazis were too busy trying not to rock the boat so were busily engaged in sitting on their thumbs and rotating.

First world problems: I am using my AirPods, OG, first gen, still roughly high capacity batteries. Because my AirPods Pro are still charging, because the left one decided not to make contact with the case the last time I put them away, so it never charged. And not using my usual favorite, AirPods Max, because they're getting uncomfortable due to the heat and the fact they're a fricking airtight vapor chamber over my ears. And it somewhat bothers me that they reek of a combination of earwax and fungus. I *guess* nobody normally uses headphones all day, every day?

Wherein I vacate all Apple related chats because one annoying person can't stop complaining about how Apple is constantly rescanning his data for OCR and/or object identification purposes.

I can't explain why they do it, when the processes of scanning apparently never change, so therefore they should produce the same results given the same input data, so why does Apple ineptly re-scan your data nonstop, day-in, day-out?

I can't explain it. I don't want to explain it. I don't even want to concern myself with the reason.

I simply turn off Apple Photos syncing on my desktops and delete the local libraries so the desktops aren't constantly scanning my photos for changes that aren't happening.

I'm already annoyed enough that this person pointed out that they're running on an aging Intel machine. Guess what, intelligence models existed in CPU back then. It just wasn't called "Apple Intelligence". Intentionally running old versions of macOS to avoid "Apple Intelligence" doesn't buy you a reprieve from the OS trying to outsmart you and spend your electricity.
